This is a current list of tools, resources and other stuff I use to build and make stuff with AI.
Who knows how long this list will be relevant as things are changing all the time, but the aim is to have a solid baseline that I can always use.
If you have any recommendations, let me know.
Claude Code Opus was what really got me hooked and it’s still what I use now. However it seems as though Codex has caught up. So I don’t think there is a “best” one, it’s whatever you prefer.
But I really like Claude’s Cowork functionality. It’s very powerful. For example I had a folder of bank statements, I pointed Claude Cowork towards the folder and told it to work out how much interest I earned in a tax year. This is such a tedious task to do manually, but Claude Cowork does it in a couple of minutes.
Claude’s Mac app has a Code tab too, which you can use to build stuff without using terminal.
But I actually think the Codex Mac app is even better. OpenAI have done a great job with it.
I currently happily pay for both, but I have the higher tier $100 a month plan on Claude.

I was looking for a better terminal, ended up coming across this. It has tabs, notifications, and I think is a bit easier to read.
When I just need a plain old terminal, I use this.

This has become my go to app now to build stuff. I love how it combines multiple apps in to one. It also forces me to follow a more traditional route and follow best practices.
